An afternoon of memories, tea and cake.

Writer's picture: Gary GrimshawGary Grimshaw

As part of of the Parish of St John's Liberation 75 celebrations, we recognized it was vital that the memories of parishioners who had lived through the German Occupation and Liberation Day on 9th of May 1945 were recorded for future generations.

This process was multifaceted, as we plan to produce several different final outcomes. In one corner we had Kieranne Grimshaw interviewing each of the Parishioners individually, for use in a film, and eventually a book. In the other corner Deputy Trevor Pointon, holding a group discussion also for use in a film. Between them was Gary Grimshaw being Photographer, Videographer, Soundman and general dog's body.

In all an excellent idea, with so much laughter, and wonderful memories, with some rather lovely cake.
